Utica, New York (July 2026) – Drive Hope. Compete for a National Championship. Change Lives at
CFLR’s 17th Annual Recovery Classic. The Center for Family Life and Recovery, Inc. (CFLR) is pleased to
announce that team registration and sponsorship opportunities are now available for the 17th Annual
Recovery Classic: An Applied Underwriters Invitational Event, taking place on Wednesday, September
16, 2026, at Skenandoa Golf Club in Clinton, New York. This tournament brings together businesses,
community leaders, and golfers from across Central New York for a day of friendly competition with a
greater purpose – raising critical funds to support CFLR’s prevention, treatment, recovery, mental
health, and suicide prevention programs that serve thousands of individuals and families throughout
the region.
Returning for its second consecutive year as an official Applied Underwriters Invitational qualifying
event, CFLR’s Recovery Classic offers golfers the opportunity to compete for more than just local
bragging rights. The tournament’s winning foursome will earn an invitation to compete at the
prestigious National Finals at the American Club Resort in Wisconsin, where they will play on the world-
renowned Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run golf courses. This continued partnership places CFLR’s
tournament among an elite network of qualifying events while offering participants a truly unforgettable
golf experience.
“Our Recovery Classic is about bringing our community together to make a meaningful difference,”
expressed Cassandra Sheets, CEO of CFLR. “Every golfer who registers and every business that
becomes a sponsor helps ensure that individuals and families have access to the support, resources,
and hope they deserve.”
Businesses are encouraged to partner with CFLR through a variety of sponsorship opportunities
ranging from $250 to $5,000. Sponsors receive valuable marketing exposure, event recognition,
networking opportunities, and the chance to demonstrate their commitment to strengthening the
health and well-being of the community. The day includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, on-course contests,
awards, and the opportunity to compete for exciting prizes. Foursome registration is $1,000 now
through August 15th (goes up to $1,200 afterwards).
As our nation commemorates America’s 250th anniversary, this year’s Recovery Classic celebrates the
enduring values of resilience, unity, and service that continue to strengthen communities. Every
sponsorship and registration represents an investment in a healthier future and helps ensure when
there’s help, there’s hope.
