The Workman family traveled to Los Angeles for a family trip. They happened to stop at Planet Hollywood for lunch when they noticed Eric Estrada having lunch there.
Recently, Arlene, the developmentally disabled sister if two For The Good board members, Delores ad Denise Prince, celebrated their sister’s 60th birthday party. At the party a video was taken of Arlene expressing her desire to have the movie star, Eric Estrada, come to her party. The video went viral and caught the attention of Estrada, the star of the hit TV show CHIPS.
According to Delores Workman Estrada’s staff reached out to the ARC to which Arlene has been a client since she was 15 years old and told the resource center that Mr. Estrada wanted to personally wish her a happy birthday and set up a zoom call which occurred on August 20th.
Scores of family and friends all gathered in the great room at the center on Genesee St to celebrate and witness the cherished moment. A giant TV screen awaited the exciting event while Arlene and her loving family sat at the front table when finally the screen came alive with the face and voice of the beloved actor.
Arlene rose and walked to the front of the room when summoned by her prince charming who referred to her as Queenie over and over. Arlene waved and blew kisses as Estrada beckoned and flirted with her throughout the episode. He spoke of coming to visit her in person, wondered where Utica was and promised that when he did he would give her a big French kiss!
During the course of the 40 minute call, TV cameras captured every moment for the evening news as Arlene unwrapped the box of gifts that Estrada sent for her birthday. This memorable was a delight and a and event to be cherished for a lifetime.
The Utica Phoenix will be sure to cover the coming visit by Eric Estrada whenever he makes his appearance to see his Queenie in the future.
