Its almost time to start voting in person.
You can start casting your ballot in this year’s elections as soon as Saturday morning in Onondaga County. There are six polling places in the county and polls are open this weekend from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Weekdays do have different hours.
On the ballot this year are 17 county legislators, a Supreme Court justice, and for Syracuse residents, the mayor.
Voters should know in advance that masks are required inside. Poll workers will also be sanitizing polling places, and there will be signs up requesting people to use social distancing.
“For early voting and Election Day, you have to, we’re following the same protocols that we followed last year for the COVID protocols where you have to wear a mask. There will be masks available if you do not have any with you. But you have to wear a mask to enter these polling places,” said Michele Sardo, thee Onondaga County Republican elections commissioner.
You’ll be getting a letter in the mail next week if your polling place has changed. If you need some help getting to your polling place, the Republican and Democratic committees offer some help with that. You can call the Onondaga County Board of Elections or visit their website for more info.
