Fayetteville-Manlius win division title with fourth straight victory

The CBA Brothers looked like potentially the team to beat in Class A this season when they whipped Whitesboro in our first Friday Night Matchup of the 2021 season.

But, the Brothers ran into a buzzsaw in the final FNM of the regular season at Fayetteville-Manlius Friday night.

The Hornets (5-1) jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the second quarter before the Brothers got on the board.

F-M senior quarterback Chris Hoalcraft made sure CBA never took the lead by toting the rock 69 yards for a score to answer the Brothers’ tally, his second touchdown of the game.

Hoalcraft ran for two touchdowns and threw for another, hitting Alex DuPuy for a 31-yard strike to make it 31-12 in the third quarter.

Credit the Brothers for not quitting, scoring the final two touchdowns of the game to close to within 31-26. But, the Hornets hung on to with their fourth straight game and the Class A American division title.

Hoalcraft and running back TJ Conley combined for over 300 yards rushing and three touchdowns in the victory. CBA (3-3) got two touchdown passes from Jordan Rae, who added another on the ground in defeat.

Now, it looks like F-M and Indian River (4-0) will be the teams to beat in the sectional playoffs which begin next week.
