New Yorkers demand 100% renewable energy, polluter fee, and end to fracked gas infrastructure

In what will be the largest climate rally in Albany history, on April 23rd – the day after Earth Day – thousands of New Yorkers will descend on Albany to demand that Governor Cuomo halt all fracking infrastructure, commit to 100% renewable energy in New York, and make corporate polluters pay for the damage they cause.

The “Cuomo: Walk the Talk on Climate” Day of Action will begin in Sheridan Hollow, the planned site for a 16-megawatt fracked-gas power plant that would power the Empire State Plaza while endangering the health of a predominantly Black and working-class neighborhood. Participants will march to the Capitol Building, where they will rally on the Million Dollar Staircase.
