The Hamilton College Arboretum’s 2018-19 Saturday Speaker series continues with renowned gardener and author Kerry Ann Mendez. She will discuss “Gardening Simplified: Exceptional Plants and Design Solutions for Busy and Maturing Gardeners” on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m., at the Kennedy Auditorium, Taylor Science Center, on Hamilton’s campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Mendez’s gardens have been featured in gardening magazines including Horticulture, Garden Gate, Better Homes and Gardens, and Fine Gardening. She is an accomplished author and has written four gardening books, most recently The Budget –Wise Gardener: Plant the Best for Less! (2018).
Parking is available near the building. All Arboretum events are free and open to the public, and everyone interested in gardens and landscapes is encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is not required.

January 26 – “Plant Health Care: The Most Recent in Pruning, Planting and Mulching” by Fred Breglia. Breglia, also known as the “Tree Man.” Breglia is the executive director of the Landis Arboretum and an award winning arborist.
February 16 – “The Forests of Hamilton College” by Steve Bick, a forester and researcher who completed a forest carbon inventory and stewardship plan for Hamilton College’s woodlands.
April 6 – “Jazzing Up the Garden with Color, Contrast and Movement,” by Karen Bussolini, gives gardeners simple intuitive ways of thinking about combining plants with anyone can use.
