The NAACP climate dashboard and Young, Gifted, and Green have launched a tool aimed at bringing candidates’ environmental positions into public view before the midterm elections.
The groups announced Climate on Your Ballot on October 26. They describe it as a public record of candidates’ positions on climate justice, environmental health and community protection.
The NAACP climate dashboard will serve as a critical resource for voters analyzing candidates’ commitments to environmental issues.
The project connects civil rights advocacy with questions about air, water, energy and development, as highlighted by the NAACP climate dashboard. The organizers emphasize data centers, clean energy and lead pipes among the issues they want candidates to address.
How the tool works
According to the NAACP’s instructions, users enter an address, select “See my ballot” and review candidates. An “Ask to answer” option allows users to request responses from candidates who have not answered the climate questions.
The resource also aims to show nearby projects, data centers and policies affecting environmental choices.
A starting point, not an official ballot guide
The dashboard is an advocacy-led public education resource. A missing response should not be treated as proof of a candidate’s position. Readers should compare dated answers with the candidate’s own statements and record.
This report has not verified the dashboard’s coverage of every Mohawk Valley race. For registration, polling places and official ballot details, use election authorities rather than a third-party candidate tool.
