Mohawk Valley Community College is hosting a Softball All-Skills Day Camp this summer for students ages 8 to 18.
The camp will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, July 23 to 26, in the softball fields and Jorgensen Center Field House at the College’s Utica Campus, 1101 Sherman Drive. Check-in begins 30 minutes prior to Monday’s session in the lobby of the Jorgensen Center Field House.
The camps focus on technical and tactical skills of the players enabling individuals to begin preparation for the spring season in a contained, focused, and competitive environment. Day camps feature advanced training techniques and fun, game-related activities for all players. Pitching and catching sessions cover physical, technical, tactical, and psychological aspects of the positions, providing the developing pitcher or catcher with a total instructional program led by current and former college-level players.
Campers are responsible for providing their own snacks, lunch, and water, and should bring their own sneakers, cleats, glove, helmet, bat, catcher’s gear, pitcher’s mask, and water bottle.
The cost for the camp is $120 and includes a Softball Camp T-shirt. A $10 discount will be given to families with multiple attendees. Those who sign up before July 1 will get a 10 percent discount. A nonrefundable deposit of $45 is required with each application and will be applied to the total fee. No credit cards, but checks are accepted. Please make checks payable and send to: Mohawk Valley Community College, Athletics Department Softball Camp, 1101 Sherman Drive, Utica, NY 13501.
