Megan Thee Stallion Intends To Open Houston Assisted Living Facilities

Megan Thee Stallion graduated from Texas Southern University on a Saturday with a bachelor of science degree in health administration. The 26-year-old rapper was also honored with the 18th Congressional District’s Humanitarian Award in Houston.

“This award has not been given out often, or it has not been given out to many. That is why it remains a very special part of our congressional district,” Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee said. “When this award is given, it has that special promise and special history.”

“The hero award is wrapped up in humanitarianism; It means that you have exhibited humanity and you have helped without asking,” Lee added, naming the honor the “hero award.”

While accepting her award, Megan shared she feels it is her responsibility to take care of the city that took care of her.

“My grandma always taught me to be kind and giving. I learned that from her. — I’ve only been raised by very giving women,” she expressed. “So I definitely want to dedicate this award to her too because she taught me how to be the woman I am today.”

Before graduating, the Houston hottie dreamed of opening assisted-living facilities in the city, a pursuit she says is still the main priority.

“I’m still going to open up these assisted living facilities. And I definitely want to hire new college graduates,” she told Rolling Stone.”Nobody ever wants to hire you fresh out of college,” she said. “They feel like you have no experience, so I want to create a place where you can get experience.”

In 2019, the Houston rapper shared with the publication her plans to use her degree to open assisted-living facilities in her hometown of Houston.

“I really wanted to be an administrator over a hospital, but I knew I still wanted to be Megan Thee Stallion. I was like, ‘What can I do?'” she said. “I was like, ‘You know what, I’m gonna open an assisted-living facility and use the money that I make from rapping to open it. Then I’m gonna let my classmates run it.”

Last year, the rapper launched the Don’t Stop Scholarship Fund, giving two women of color $10,000, and funded a full-ride scholarship at JAY-Z’s Roc Nation School of Music, Sports, and, Entertainment at Long Island University.

Her philanthropy work doesn’t end there. The “Thee Meg Fund” scholarship page was also formed in honor of the TSU graduate.

“Tax-deductible donations to this page will help other TSU students cross the finish line at graduation, just like Megan! Go Tigers!” TSU’s website states.

With her rap success skyrocketing, it’s hugely inspiring the artist chose to obtain her degree despite the fame.

“I definitely feel super relieved because I feel like I’ve been at school for so long. When I got famous, I had to start taking two classes at a time,” she said. “This last semester, I was like, okay, just give me a full class load because I want to be done. I want to be out of here. And now I’m like, yes, I did it; I can’t believe it. I’m really a college graduate, so I feel good.”
