UTICA, NY (MAY 16, 2022)—Volunteers from the Central & Northern New York Chapter of the American Red Cross provided immediate emergency aid to seven people after a fire Monday on Roberts Street in Utica, Oneida County.
The Red Cross provided financial assistance for necessities such as shelter, food, and clothing to four adults and three children, ages 1, 4, and 7, in two households. Volunteers also offered health services and comfort kits containing personal care items, as well as stuffed animals for the children. One resident is eligible for Veterans’ services. In the coming days, Red Cross staff and volunteers will remain available to help those affected by the fire as they navigate the road to recovery.
