Letters sent to Santa thanks to Binghamton University students, Macy’s

The holidays are approaching and Santa’s gift list just got a lot longer.

With the help of Binghamton University students and Macy’s, over 30,000 letters were sent to the North Pole.

For every Christmas wish to Santa, Macy’s is donating $2 to the Make-A-Wish-Foundation.

The foundation helps grant wishes for children with serious illnesses.

As part of National Believe Week, the partnership between Binghamton Wishmakers on campus and the Macy’s Believe campaign, Macy’s is doubling its donations.

The goal is to raise $2 million.

“It feels really amazing,” the president of Wishmakers on Campus, Allison Grandy, said. “Especially because of all the work that went into the event. It was really nice to see it become so successful. I couldn’t even imagine getting 30,000 letters this year, just with everything going on with COVID, restrictions on campus, so it was really great to see how successful it was.”

The campaign runs until Christmas Eve.
