Hamilton College Presents College Choir and Jazz Enseble in Winter Concerts

Clinton, NY – Hamilton College Department of Music presents the Hamilton College Jazz
Ensemble, Hamilton College Choir, and Hamilton College Orchestra in their semester-end concerts
in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts.
Directed by Gabe Condon, the Hamilton College Jazz Ensemble performs on Friday, December 5
at 7:30 pm. The concert focuses on the roots of jazz in the blues and will feature music by Duke
Ellington, Charlie Mingus, and Art Pepper.
The Hamilton College Choir performs on Saturday, December 6 at 7:30 pm. Charlotte Botha
conducts “Forest of Hope,” a program exploring our relationship with nature and sustainability,
featuring the choral works of Felix Mendelssohn, Anton Bruckner, Sherryl Sewepagaham, Moira
Smiley, and Ayanna Woods.
The Hamilton College Orchestra, conducted by Heather Buchman, rounds out the ensemble
concerts on Friday, December 12 at 7:30 pm. The program will include Brahms’ Symphony No. 2
Bartok’s Dances from Transylvania.
All concerts are free and open to the public. No tickets are required. For more information call the
