Feb 21st “Black Art Matters”
Daniel Buckingham
Daniel Buckingham, Artist and PrattMWP Professor of Sculpture, will share and discuss historic and contemporary images that illustrate the role of art in Black Lives Matter. Dan is a longtime UUUUtica member who traveled solo by bicycle for 8 years along the Silk Road and through more than 60 countries. His work explores Cultural Exchange within the 21st Century context. Dan’s exhibitions have been featured at Munson-Williams and the Everson, as well as galleries and spaces throughout the US and abroad. His large-scale public commission entitled “Tower of Bells” is located in the Park of Women and Children, Quito, Ecuador. Daniel’s mixed media work is featured this month at Step Mother Nature.
