UTICA, NY – SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly) is pleased to announce the appointment of
Jennifer Rubino as the university’s new Director of Career Services. In this role, Rubino will lead the
strategic direction and day-to-day operations of SUNY Poly’s Career Services program within the
Office of Workforce Development, enhancing opportunities that connect students with internships,
experiential learning, and career success after graduation.
As Director of Career Services, Rubino will lead a comprehensive portfolio focused on career
coaching, workforce programming, employer engagement, and scalable pathways to internships
and employment opportunities for SUNY Poly’s students. She will also build and expand high-impact
partnerships with businesses, industries, and community organizations to align workforce needs
with academic programs and student career outcomes.
Rubino brings extensive experience in higher education, workforce development, and industry
collaboration. Prior to joining SUNY Poly, she served at Utica University as both a Career Coach and
later Associate Director for the Center for Career Readiness, where she supported student career
development, cultivated employer partnerships, and designed programs that prepared students for
successful transitions into the workforce. Most recently, she worked at Wolfspeed, leading
workforce upskilling and apprenticeship initiatives that supported the development of technical
talent within the semiconductor manufacturing industry.
“Jenn Rubino’s extensive experience in workforce development, employer engagement, and
building career pathways for students makes her an outstanding fit for this role,” said SUNY Poly
Senior Director of Workforce Development Erica Schoff. “She brings a strong understanding of
workforce alignment that will help ensure our students are not only academically prepared, but
truly career ready on day one. As we continue expanding experiential learning, internships,
employer partnerships, and workforce initiatives across the region, her leadership will play a critical
role in creating meaningful pathways that connect students to high-impact careers and support the
evolving needs of industry.”
Rubino will also work closely with faculty, employers, and community partners to develop and scale
internship programs, project-based learning opportunities, capstone experiences, and workforce
initiatives that provide students with hands-on, real-world experiences while addressing regional
workforce and community challenges.
“I am thrilled to join SUNY Poly as the Director of Career Services,” said Rubino. “I look forward to
collaborating with students, faculty, employers, and community partners to create innovative and

accessible pathways that empower students, strengthen workforce readiness, and support the
continued growth of our region.”
