WOMEN WRITERS ACCOUNTABILITY GROUP
SESSION I: JANUARY 19-MARCH 23, 2021—TUESDAY EVENINGS AT 7PM
Calling all women writers and aspiring writers!
Women Writers Accountability Group (WWAG) is a new program designed by Arts at the Palace to encourage women writers at all levels and in all genres. The first of four 10-week sessions will begin Tuesday evening at 7PM via Zoom and will include weekly one-hour meetings where women writers and aspiring writers will gather to discuss writing projects and to set goals for the duration of the session.
Arts at the Palace’s executive director Elizabeth Douglas, a multi-genre writer and published author, will serve as the program director. She will share information with participants from many sources about establishing a regular writing practice.
WWAG will also feature guest professional writers to offer a different point of view on creating space and time for writing.
WWAG is not a writing education program but is designed as a supportive community to help women reach their own goals. Participants will receive a program tote bag, notebook, and a copy of the book Writing Down the Bones: Freeing the Writer Within by Natalie Goldberg.
At the end of the year, there will be a reception at the Palace Theater with an optional presentation opportunity for participants from any of the 10-week sessions to read excerpts of their work to friends, family, and community members.
HOW TO JOIN: Email firstname.lastname@example.org with WWAG in the subject line.
WWAG is open to women 18 years old+ and is free of charge.
If you have the means, please consider making a donation to Arts at the Palace’s 2020-2021 programs.
WWAG is made possible in part by a New ERA Women Writers Program Grant from the Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation.
