The Winter Fair is returning to the State Fairgrounds after a year off due to the pandemic, according to fair officials. The event features several acts and attractions, such as Hilby the German Juggling Boy. It will begin the first weekend of February.
“This is one more step towards the end of the pandemic,” said State Fair Director Troy Waffner.
This year, the fair is sponsored by Nave Law and promoted by Premier Promotions. Organizers are hoping this year’s numbers will reach 2018’s attendance level of 25,000 visitors.
“Assuming we don’t get a blizzard on February 4, I would definitely think this will be a year with the excitement of people wanting to come out where you’ll hit 25-30,000 people,” said Waffner.
Acts you can expect on February 4 – 6 include ATLAS, Ronnie Leigh, The BlackLites, fireworks and more.
“You’ve got a great time to spend not only an hour or two but spend the whole day,” said Waffner.
There will be a mini-midway with rides like the Sea Ray, a Ferris Where, Giant Slide, Scramble Swing and more. Despite the low attendance of the State Fair earlier this year, Wafner thinks folks will be excited to come out.
