Utica Zoo’s 10 th ANNUAL SALAMANDER SATURDAY

 

Utica Zoo Encourages Community to Join Salamander Stroll

Utica Zoo will be participating in the 10 th annual Salamander Saturday by hosting their own event on zoo grounds to raise awareness and provide conservation education about
salamanders on Saturday, May 2 nd from 10:00am to 4:30pm. Utica Zoo will be directly
supporting the Foundation for the Conservation of Salamanders with this event.
One Can Expect:

 Educational Salamander coloring sheets, activity pages, and tri-fold giveaways.

 Ambassador animal presentations and experiences provided by their education team.

 Educational talks with a focus on salamander conservation (Utica Zoo’s watering can

pond is its own natural exhibit)!

 Signature ‘Salamander Sundaes’ at Polly’s Concessions, with $1 of each sundae
sold directly supporting the Foundation for the Conservation of Salamanders.

 Citizen science informational booths with sign-ups available.

The Utica Zoo is encouraging their community to directly support this foundation with
a Salamander Stroll on zoo grounds! Whether it becomes a walk, run, hike, or stroll, this
event is perfect for anyone who wants to get outside surrounded by nature and wildlife to
support a good cause.
For only $10, one can make a valuable contribution to salamander conservation
while also supporting their own well-being. Those who register for the stroll can receive
perks in the mail and access to an online salamander art auction. Registration for the stroll can be found at:

This event is free with regular zoo admission, and no prior registration is
required. The Salamander stroll is optional but highly encouraged!

The Utica Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is the Best of
Mohawk Valley Community Choice Award Winner for 2025. It is a regional destination that
inspires and promotes the appreciation of wildlife through education, conservation, and
recreation. Situated in the heart of Central New York, the zoo features a diverse collection of animals from around the world and offers various educational programs and events for visitors of all ages.
