Saturday, September 19th is International Red Panda Day! Visit the Utica Zoo on this day between
10:00am and 3:00pm to learn about and support the incredible, endangered red panda species!
Accredited zoos across the nation are hosting events like theirs in honor of this day.
At Utica Zoo on Saturday, guests can anticipate:
• 10% of all proceeds from red panda merchandise sold in the zoo’s
gift shop to be donated to the Red Panda Network – stop in and shop
their red panda plush, ornaments, and more.
• Donate $1 to the Red Panda Network and add your name to their
‘Bamboo Forest’.
• Collect a Red Panda SAFE (Saving Animals From Extinction)
Trading Card that displays the zoo’s current red pandas, Bao and
Momo!
• Keeper chats outside the red panda exhibit at 10:30am, 11:30am,
and 12:30pm.
• Children can enjoy a craft and activity table about the red panda
species.
The Utica Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is the Best of Mohawk Valley
Community Choice Award Winner for 2025. It is a regional destination that inspires and promotes the
appreciation of wildlife through education, conservation, and recreation. Situated in the heart of Central
New York, the zoo features a diverse collection of animals from around the world and offers various
educational programs and events for visitors of all ages. It is home to approximately 200 exotic and
domestic animals, welcoming nearly 100,000 visitors annually and is open daily from 10 am to 4:30 pm
