Two Dead and One Injured After Gang Shootout in Quintana Roo, Mexico

A confrontation between criminal gangs at a beach in Quintana Roo, Mexico, left two drug dealers dead as visitors at nearby hotels were ordered to take shelter, local media reported.One tourist received medical attention for a “minor” injury, media reported.This footage filmed by visitor Mike Sington shows guests and staff at the Hyatt Ziva sheltering in place after reports of gunfire, he wrote in a tweet. People are seen hugging and crying in the lobby.In the last clip, staff at the hotel are heard announcing that the suspect had been apprehended.According to the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office, the conflict occurred at a beach in Petempich Bay. The area is a popular resort city and was occupied with tourists at the time of the incident.The State Secretariat of Public Security, Quintana Roo, reported no tourists were seriously injured or kidnapped.
