State Police make arrest following theft of more than $50,000
On December 19, 2024, State Police of Latham, with the assistance of the Capital Region Crime Analysis Center (CRCAC), arrested Steven M. Price, 56, of New York, NY, for Grand Larceny in the second degree and Identity Theft in the first degree.
On September 17, 2024, at about 9:00 p.m., Troopers received a complaint from an Albany County resident reporting the theft from a bank account. The investigation determined Price allegedly withdrew more than $50,000 from the victim’s bank account without permission or authorization during numerous transactions in September 2023.
Price was arrested in New York, NY, and transported to SP Latham for processing. He was arraigned at the Guilderland Town Court and was remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail.
Update: State Police Investigate Homicide in Sullivan County
On December 26, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Sullivan County 911 dispatched law enforcement to a reported shooting incident at 10 Sunset Point Yankee Lake in the town of Mamakating.
When Troopers arrived, they located Thomas K. Fusco, age 65, of Wurtsboro, NY, deceased inside the residence from a gunshot wound. State Police initiated a homicide investigation with the assistance of the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office. The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a neighboring residence. When Troopers entered that residence, they located a 69-year-old female victim deceased from a gunshot wound. She was later identified as Maryann Daloia of Wurtsboro. Richard Daloia, age 72, of Wurtsboro was also located within the residence deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. State Police were assisted at the scene by Department of Environmental Conservation Police.

State Police is investigating the suspicious death of an individual who was discovered with gunshot wounds at a residence on Sunset Point in Mamakating, NY.
State Troopers were called to the residence around 11 a.m., on the morning of December 26, 2024. No other details are available at this time, updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
Gouverneur male arrested for Promotion of a Sexual Performance by a Child and Possession of a Sexual Performance by a Child
On December 26, 2024, the New York State Police Troop B Computer Crime Unit arrested Zachary S. Corbine, 39, of State Route 58, Gouverneur, New York on one count each of Promotion of a Sexual Performance by a Child and Possession of a Sexual Performance by a Child. The investigation was initiated by an online platform reporting to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) child exploitation material had been sent through that online platform on four different dates through a residential Wi-Fi network Corbine had access to.
Corbine was arraigned in the Town of Fowler Court and was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash/ $15,000 bond bail. Corbine is to reappear in the Town of Edwards Court on 01/14/25. The investigation is still ongoing.
The Troop B Computer Crime Unit was assisted by Homeland Security Investigations.
State Police are seeking public assistance with a larceny case in Leray

On December 9, 2024, at approximately 12:50 p.m., State Police responded to Walmart on US 11 in the town of Leray for a larceny complaint.
State Police in Watertown are attempting to identify the suspect who was captured on surveillance camera exiting the store without paying for merchandise.

State Police are Investigating a Fatal Fire in the Town of Highland
On December 25, 2025, at approximately 03:16 a.m., Troopers out of the highland barracks responded to an active structure fire on North Riverside Rd in the town of Highland, NY.
The Highland Fire Department, Milton Fire Department, and Esopus Fire Department responded to the scene and began to suppress the fire. State police was also assisted by the Ulster County Fire Investigators. Emergency personnel were able to enter the residence and locate a 69-year-old male in the bedroom deceased due to smoke inhalation. The victim was later identified as Phillip Damberg of Highland, NY. The fire was a result of a wood burning stove.
State Police is Investigating a fatal Motor Vehicle Collision in the Town of Ulster
On December 28, 2024, at approximately 6:15 a.m., the New York State Police responded 3 miles north of exit 19 southbound on Interstate 87 to investigate a one-car fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred in the town of Ulster. The operator and sole occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
