Senator Griffo to discuss state efforts to severely punish those who target police and first responders

With National Police Week recently reminding us of the threats first responders face every day, State Senator Joseph Griffo will be joined by members of local law enforcement on Monday to discuss legislation that would help protect first responders from targeted attacks:

WHEN:
Monday, May 22 – 9:15 a.m.

WHERE:        Utica Police Station – 413 Oriskany St. W., Utica
In front of Utica Police Memorial Wall, weather permitting – in the event of rain, the press conference will take police inside the Utica Police Station

WHAT:         As targeted threats against law enforcement and first responders continue to rise nationwide, Senator Griffo and law enforcement officials will discuss the State’s latest efforts to protect first responders from these hate-fueled attacks

WHO:         State Senator Joseph Griffo, with representatives from the Utica Police Department, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, New Hartford Police Department, Rome Police Department and New York State Police
