Nonpartisan event helps residents prepare for the Nov. 3 general election.
ROME, N.Y. – The Rome NAACP Branch and League of Women Voters of the Utica-Rome Metropolitan Area hosted a nonpartisan voter education and registration event Saturday, Oct. 10, at the South Rome Senior Center.
Community members had the opportunity to view a PowerPoint presentation titled “Why We Vote,” learn about early voting locations, absentee ballots and the new two-sheet ballot for the Nov. 3 general election. Voter registration assistance and educational materials were available, with representatives on hand to answer questions about the voting process.

Refreshments were served, and voter-themed giveaways were available, including pens bearing the word “VOTE,” wristlets, notebooks and lanyards.
The initiative was part of the organizations’ ongoing commitment to nonpartisan voter education and access to election information.

The voter registration deadline is Oct. 24. Early voting runs Oct. 24 through Nov. 1. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
