Release: BME Celebrates Grand Opening with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Mohawk, NY — Business Machines and Equipment (BME) will celebrate the grand opening of its new location at 5 Ann St. in Mohawk, NY on Friday, June 24th from 11am-4pm. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1pm. A special 50th anniversary recognition for Chip Hummel, CEO of Hummel’s Office Plus (BME’s sister company) will take place at 2pm. The press and public are invited to attend.

BME’s corporate office was formerly located at 8375 Seneca Turnpike in New Hartford. BME’s sister company, Hummels Office Plus, is headquartered across the street.  Both companies also share space at 6731 Collamer Road in East Syracuse.

“Our company is growing by leaps and bounds and we’re excited for this new chapter at BME,” says Steve Mitchell, Vice President of Sales and Development. “By moving our corporate office to the Mohawk Valley, it will provide a synchronization of processes with Hummel’s, while expanding our warehouse space and distribution channel.  We will now be able to better serve our clients from the Greater Syracuse Area to the Greater Albany Area and everywhere in-between.  We’ll be able to provide same day service and deliver consumables to all our customers within 24 hours of ordering. We have the best employees and clients who have contributed to our significant growth.”

Over the last six years, BME has seen a tremendous growth explosion in their company which allowed them to move to a larger space in Mohawk.  The two-story building, which has been under renovation for over a year, includes a world-class technology showroom  with over 15,000 square feet of office space and 65,000 in distribution and warehouse space.

BME provides software solutions and office technology from Canon, Xerox, and Kyocera as well as FP Postage systems.  Locally owned and operated, BME has provided office solutions with local reliable service throughout upstate New York for more than 30 years and looks forward to increasing their capacity to better serve the community.
