
Clean-up kits available for residents affected by flooding
UTICA, NY (July 5, 2017) – The American Red Cross is continuing to operate an emergency shelter at the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES at 4747 Middle Settlement Road in New Hartford (Oneida County). The shelter has been open since Saturday evening for any residents forced from their homes by flooding.
Residents working to may visit the shelter to pick up clean-up kits containing supplies such as mops, bleach, gloves and other cleaning products. Red Cross volunteers are also traveling through flood-affected neighborhoods to conduct damage assessments and distribute supplies to those in need. For further assistance,flood victims can call the Red Cross Emergency Communications Center at (800) 831-0927, ext. 1.

All Red Cross assistance is provided free of charge and made possible by the generosity of the public. People can help by donating to Red Cross Disaster Relief. Anyone interested in becoming a disaster volunteer can start an application online at redcross.org/volunteer.
