PHOENIX PRO WRESTLING REPORT | THE LATE BELL
Monday, October 19, 2026 | By David LaGuerre
Roman Reigns returns to Raw, Penta faces Bron Breakker, and Shotzi Blackheart makes her TNA future official. Here is what is confirmed before tonight’s opening bell, plus a practical guide to the wrestling week.
Tonight’s biggest question is how Roman Reigns responds to a stronger enemy. WWE is advertising his return as The 946 continues its storyline campaign against The Bloodline. Meanwhile, TNA has a concrete roster announcement to discuss: Shotzi Blackheart has signed with the company, and she says she still intends to work independent dates.
This evening edition focuses on previews and developments to follow next. For the completed weekend results, including WrestleDream, SmackDown and the Mexican promotions, read our October 19 Morning Bell. Announced matches below are upcoming attractions, not results. Analysis refers to the wrestling stories presented on television.
Tonight on Raw: Reigns returns, with Penta in action
Confirmed viewing information: Raw starts Monday, October 19, at 8 p.m. Eastern on Netflix. WWE’s official preview lists Reigns’ return and two singles matches:
- Penta vs. Bron Breakker. WWE identifies Penta as Mr. Money in the Bank and connects this match to Breakker confronting him last week.
- Joe Hendry vs. JD McDonagh. Their television dispute has centered on Hendry’s mockery of McDonagh, including a life-size Funko Pop gag.
- Roman Reigns returns. WWE’s lead preview asks how the World Heavyweight Champion will respond after Carmelo Hayes joined The 946.
Sami Zayn is also advertised to come face-to-face with Reigns, according to Fightful’s report of WWE’s announcement. That is an advertised confrontation, not a newly announced championship match.
What to watch in the story
Phoenix analysis: Reigns has two different problems to address. A champion-to-champion conversation with Zayn can turn into a contest over status. The 946 story asks a more immediate question: can The Bloodline respond together? Listen for a specific plan rather than treating every threat as a match announcement.
Penta and Breakker have a useful contrast for a Monday main-card attraction. Penta carries a future championship opportunity; Breakker has a chance to interrupt his momentum right now. A win or loss can shape that story without settling the briefcase question. A possible cash-in remains a viewer’s prediction unless WWE announces it or it happens on the broadcast.
Hendry and McDonagh offer a different test. The joke has supplied the provocation. The match can now give the argument a consequence. Watch whether McDonagh’s anger helps him focus or leaves him vulnerable. That is a storyline question, not an advance claim about the finish.
New today: Shotzi Blackheart signs with TNA
Confirmed: TNA announced Blackheart’s signing on October 19, crediting Busted Open on SiriusXM with the initial report. The company notes that she appeared at its Dothan, Alabama, events in mid-October. Its announcement also identifies her as a former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion with Ember Moon.
Attributed first-person comments: In a report posted at 3:24 p.m. Monday, Fightful transcribed Blackheart’s Busted Open interview. She said she plans to keep taking independent bookings while working for TNA. She also described weekly television storytelling as a major attraction and expressed interest in developing her connection with Rosemary and Allie.
That separates three things readers should not have to untangle themselves: the signing is official; her booking plans are her stated intentions; a specific next match is not established by that interview. Neither source supplies contract length, pay or a guaranteed championship program.
Phoenix analysis: A new arrival matters most when television gives viewers a reason to follow her from one week to the next. Blackheart’s interest in an ongoing story offers a clearer starting point than a list of imagined opponents. Her independent schedule also remains worth following, but an intention to accept bookings does not confirm any particular appearance.
iMPACT’s U.S. weekly slot is Thursday at 9 p.m. Eastern on AMC, as reflected on TNA’s official site. The next Thursday is October 22. A complete verified October 22 card was not available in the sources checked for this edition, so Blackheart is not being advertised here for a match that has not been confirmed.
The week ahead: NXT and SmackDown
NXT, Tuesday, October 20: The CW’s official episode listing confirms the 8 p.m. slot. The announced card, documented by Wrestling Observer/F4W, includes Cruz Montana vs. Dion Lennox and two Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic quarterfinals: Birthright vs. Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno, and Hank & Tank vs. the Creed Brothers. EK Prosper, Mini Vikingo and Chazz “Starboy” Hall also face Vanity Project.
Phoenix analysis: The tournament supplies the clearest stakes for a viewer joining this week. Advancement is the immediate reward. The Wagner brothers’ presence also gives readers following AAA a direct connection to Tuesday’s WWE show.
SmackDown, Friday, October 23: PWMania’s report of the announced lineup lists Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley defending the Women’s Tag Team Championship against Michin and B-FAB, Giulia vs. Blake Monroe in a Street Fight, and MFT vs. Bakusai in a non-title match. The U.S. broadcast begins at 8 p.m. Eastern on USA Network, consistent with WWE’s show listing.
The non-title label matters. A win over champions can advance a rivalry, but it does not transfer their championship in a match advertised that way.
AEW: Wednesday’s debut and Saturday’s separate show
Ilja Dragunov’s first AEW match is set for Wednesday, October 21, on Dynamite. Fightful’s report of the post-WrestleDream press conference documents the announcement by Tony Khan and Dragunov. That report does not name an opponent. No opponent is being added here on the strength of online wish lists.
The official Dynamite event page confirms the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Florida. Its 7:30 p.m. event listing should not be mistaken for television’s opening time. AEW’s broadcast guide lists Dynamite at 8 p.m. Eastern Wednesday on TBS and HBO Max.
Collision has its own Saturday date this week. AEW lists October 24 at LJVM Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The regular U.S. television slot is 8 p.m. Eastern on TNT and HBO Max. Last week’s combined Wednesday presentation should not be carried forward as this week’s schedule. A complete Saturday card was not verified at this check.
Phoenix analysis: Dragunov’s debut is the concrete next attraction. How he is introduced, whom he faces and what follows the match will tell viewers more about his role than speculation about distant pay-per-view pairings.

ROH: Where to watch, and what is actually announced
ROH’s official homepage offers HonorClub episode 188 on demand. Its next weekly Thursday slot falls October 22. Recent Pro Wrestling Dot Net coverage identifies the current HonorClub start time as 8 p.m. Eastern. An episode-specific October 22 lineup was not verified, so this is a weekly viewing slot rather than a confirmed match card.
A separate official listing confirms November 3 HonorClub tapings at WJCT Studios in Jacksonville. Registration is free, but the listing warns that seating is limited and registration does not guarantee entry. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Eastern, with wrestling expected around 5 p.m. Those are in-person taping times, not a newly announced streaming start.
CMLL tonight; AAA’s three-week calendar
CMLL, Monday, October 19: Arena Puebla’s Lunes Clásico card is led by Ángel de Oro and Xelhua vs. Soberano Jr. and Templario in a two-out-of-three-falls tag match. Other announced attractions include Lluvia and Tessa Blanchard vs. Masha Slamovich and Momo Watanabe, plus AZM, Mei Seira and Miyu Amasaki vs. Kira, Sanely and Zeuxis. F4W’s card report reproduces CMLL’s dated official announcement.
The advertised 8 p.m. Puebla start converts to 10 p.m. Eastern on October 19. That is the arena bell time. A U.S.-accessible live streaming arrangement was not verified for this card.
AAA: Héroes Inmortales is being presented across weekly broadcasts. TPWW’s report of AAA’s announcements assigns the Mega, Reina de Reinas and trios championship matches to October 24. Rey Fenix vs. Mini Vikingo belongs to October 31; El Fiscal vs. Abismo Negro is assigned to November 7. The report lists WWE and AAA’s YouTube channels for the October 24 broadcast. An exact Eastern stream start was not independently verified, so it is not supplied here.
That date separation is the useful reminder: the overall event card is not necessarily the card for one Saturday broadcast.
