On Point for College Students Presented Laptops

 

On Point for College Utica’s Annual Volunteer and Mentor Dinner held January 16th at The Utica Public Library Gallery provided an opportunity to thank dozens of mentors, volunteers, and partners for the support they have provided to On Point for College students and graduates.

The event culminated with the presentation of approximately 20 refurbished laptop computers to On Point students who achieved the highest grade-point averages during the Fall 2017 semester. Welch Allyn donated the laptops to On Point for College. Mayor Palmieri was on hand.

About On Point for College:: On Point for College came to Utica in November of 2012 and is helping than 1000 area students lower-income youth pursue their educational dreams with an amazing 80.1% persistence rate. On Point for College is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1999. The organization works to help first-generation students access and succeed in college and careers. To date, the organization has helped more than 7,800 students enroll in more than 200 college and universities.
