New grant aims to fund North Syracuse Main Street project

A new grant secured by leaders in North Syracuse will help the city fund its project on Main Street.

The grant is worth $500,000 and the project is aimed at re-energizing businesses along the stretch.

County Executive Ryan McMahon says the money is being used to leverage a nearly $6 million investment.

A new construction project is also going to be taking place on the corner of Route 11 and Palmer Drive.

“This is a long time coming for these villages and these business districts,” McMahon said.

Mayor Gary Butterfield said he hopes the project will lead to more redevelopment down the road for the village.
