Costume prizes, music and dancing are on the program for the museum’s October 31 celebration in downtown Utica.
Halloween will bring a late-night crowd to Munson’s Root Court on Saturday, October 31, when Munson After Dark returns with music, dancing, costumes and cocktails from 9 p.m. to midnight.
The celebration takes place inside the Munson Museum of Art at 310 Genesee St. in Utica. Admission is $20 for the general public, with lower prices for members and students and free admission for Pratt Munson students.
Costumes take center stage
Organizers are inviting guests to dress up for a chance to win prizes. Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available, according to Munson’s October 20 announcement.
Bob Mortis, Munson’s director of performing arts, said the creative costumes and the energy of the crowd help make the gathering an annual tradition. He said the museum is planning “a spirited night of music, dancing, and a few surprises.”
The event’s three-hour schedule begins at 9 p.m. on Halloween night and ends at midnight as Sunday, November 1 begins.
