A fuel stop can support local breast cancer care on Wednesday, Oct. 21, as Local Gas holds its first Gallons for Good fundraiser for the Mohawk Valley Health System Breast Care Center in Utica.
The company will donate five cents from every gallon sold at all Local Gas locations during the day, according to its event announcement. The beneficiary is the Breast Care Center at MVHS’s Faxton Campus.

Where to take part
The main gathering is at Local Gas Schuyler, 105 Drive-In Road, Frankfort. MVHS Breast Care Center representatives are scheduled to be there from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to share information about breast cancer care, the Daily Sentinel reported Oct. 14.
The Sentinel also reported outdoor hot dog cookouts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Schuyler, Frankfort and Y-Hill locations. Hot dogs will be available for a donation of any amount.
- Schuyler: 105 Drive-In Road, Frankfort.
- Frankfort: 1 Country Mile, Frankfort.
- Y-Hill: 2344 NY-49, Blossvale.
Local Gas says cash donors can receive a hot dog and a pink awareness bracelet while supplies last. Other locations serving hot dogs indoors will also accept cash donations.
A small purchase with a local beneficiary
Drivers do not have to visit the main gathering to contribute through a fuel purchase. All Local Gas locations are included in the per-gallon fundraiser, even those without food specials.
At five cents a gallon, a 15-gallon purchase would generate a 75-cent contribution from the company. Separate cash donations give residents another way to take part.

The event takes place Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026. Local Gas first announced it Oct. 2. The published plans do not yet provide a fundraising total.
