Morning Bell: Liv Escapes, Bayley Wins and Cena’s Raw Return Is Set

Tuesday, October 27, 2026 | Morning edition

Liv Morgan kept her championship, Sami Zayn survived an unexpected challenger, and Bayley finally got the win she needed. Monday’s WWE Raw results from Fresno also delivered two thwarted Money in the Bank threats and a World Tag Team Championship match for Crown Jewel. Here is the full match-and-story recap, followed by CMLL’s Monday results and tonight’s NXT guide.

WWE Raw results: All five matches

The October 26 episode streamed on Netflix from Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. No championship changed hands.

  • Undisputed WWE Championship: Sami Zayn retained against Je’Von Evans by pinfall.
  • No Disqualification: Bayley defeated Lyra Valkyria by submission.
  • Non-title: IYO SKY pinned Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez.
  • Tag team: Ethan Page and Big Cass defeated Chad Gable and Dragon Lee.
  • Women’s World Championship: Becky Lynch defeated Liv Morgan by disqualification; Morgan retained.

The main-event distinction matters: WWE’s official results record a Lynch victory by disqualification, not a Morgan pinfall victory or a title change.

The opening: Vaquer is out, and Zayn talks himself into a defense

Adam Pearce opened with a change to the advertised card. WWE said Stephanie Vaquer was not medically cleared, so her No. 1 contender’s match with Lynch would not happen. Pearce instead gave Lynch an immediate championship match against Morgan. This superseded the weekend clearance announcement reported in yesterday’s preview. Monday’s announcement did not establish a new diagnosis or return date. Fightful’s report documents the change.

Zayn interrupted, angry that he had traveled for promotional work without being booked on the broadcast. He dismissed the audience’s judgment, mocked the recognition given to Roman Reigns, CM Punk and Trick Williams, and claimed his Bloodline involvement helped elevate WWE’s business. Those were Zayn’s on-screen boasts, not an independently verified accounting of television revenue.

Evans confronted him. Zayn belittled the younger wrestler’s standing and tried to leave; Pearce responded by making their title match immediately. The exchange turned the champion’s demand for respect into a test he could not talk away. Wrestling Headlines’ segment transcript records the confrontation.

Zayn retains, but Evans and Penta get another opportunity

Evans made the impromptu defense competitive with his speed, a Red Dot kick and a frog splash that produced near falls. When Zayn moved outside, Penta arrived with his Money in the Bank briefcase and a referee. That sent the champion back toward danger in the ring.

Bron Breakker attacked Penta before a cash-in could happen. Evans dove onto Breakker, then missed his springboard attempt on returning to Zayn. The champion followed an exploder suplex with the Helluva Kick and scored the pin. Wrestling Inc.’s match report details the sequence.

The punishment continued after the decision. Breakker attacked Evans; Penta tried to intervene, but Bronson Reed joined the assault. Spears and Tsunami splashes left both challengers down, with Logan Paul watching alongside The Vision. False Finish’s show report records the aftermath.

In the trainer’s room, Evans and Penta wanted retaliation rather than sympathy. Pearce granted them a World Tag Team Championship match against Bron Breakker and Austin Theory at Crown Jewel. Theory, not Reed, is Breakker’s championship partner. Fightful’s announcement report confirms the pairing.

Later, Cathy Kelley asked The Vision about the challengers. Paul dismissed their chances and noted Theory’s absence; Reed threatened more punishment, and Breakker accepted for the group. Their interview advanced the new tag-title match rather than resolving the interrupted cash-in. The backstage transcript supplies those comments.

Bayley submits Lyra in a fight that finally produces a clear winner

Bayley and Valkyria used the No Disqualification stipulation from the opening exchange. Chairs, kendo sticks, a belt, tables and a trash can became part of the fight. Lyra answered Bayley’s early aggression and kept finding ways back into the match, including attacking with a kendo stick and using the furniture to intensify her offense.

The decisive stretch belonged to Bayley. She caught Lyra at ringside and powerbombed her onto a trash can, then sent her through a table with an elbow drop. Back inside, Bayley applied a kendo-stick-assisted crossface and forced the submission.

Fightful reports that this was Bayley’s first televised singles victory since April, following losses to Lyra in July and September. It was a meaningful result in the rivalry, not merely another post-match attack.

Analysis: This was the night’s clearest payoff. Whatever comes next for either woman, Bayley won by making Lyra surrender. On a show with protected champions and interrupted opportunities, that decisive ending carried weight.

IYO beats the champion; Page and Cass isolate Dragon Lee

IYO SKY vs. Raquel Rodriguez: IYO’s movement repeatedly challenged Raquel’s size advantage. Raquel stopped a moonsault with her knees and tried to follow with the Tejana Bomb. IYO escaped into a pinning counter for the victory. Roxanne Perez then attacked IYO at ringside, and Raquel joined the beatdown. The match was non-title, so Raquel remained Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

Chad Gable and Dragon Lee vs. Ethan Page and Big Cass: Gable and Lee combined aerial offense with quick tags, but Page changed the match by hitting Gable with an EgoPlex on the floor. Lee checked on his partner before having to fight both opponents. Cass caught him with a big boot, and Page’s EgoPlex finished the match.

PWTorch’s live report supplies both sequences. Gable was presented as hurt within the broadcast; that scene alone is not confirmation of a real-world injury diagnosis.

The other promos: Judgment Day worries, The Bloodline answers

JD McDonagh was still celebrating his win over Joe Hendry when the Judgment Day clubhouse scene shifted to Morgan’s problem. Morgan objected to being made to defend her title. Rodriguez said handling IYO would set the tone, while Perez tried to reassure the champion. Morgan insisted that everyone was against her before vowing to deal with Lynch.

The 946 and The Bloodline continued their dispute through video segments. Royce Keys challenged Solo Sikoa for next Monday in Brooklyn. Solo accepted with Roman Reigns and the Usos behind him. This was a video presentation, not a live Reigns match or an in-ring confrontation in Fresno. Kelani Jordan and Shiloh Hill were also shown in the crowd as WWE promoted NXT. Fightful’s full show log tracks those developments.

Lynch’s own pre-match message was direct: Morgan could not beat her fairly, and she intended to restore a fighting champion to the division. Pro Wrestling Dot Net’s recap records the promo.

The main event: Becky wins the match, Liv leaves with the belt

Lynch and Morgan traded near falls before Judgment Day finally took the decision out of their hands. Morgan’s Oblivion did not finish Lynch. Lynch also landed the Manhandle Slam, and the closing stretch saw Rodriguez and Perez interfere to break up the challenger’s winning chance.

The disqualification kept Morgan’s title intact. Chelsea Green and IYO then arrived to fight off Judgment Day. With Morgan vulnerable, Tiffany Stratton rushed out with a referee and her briefcase, hit the Prettiest Moonsault Ever and tried to cash in. Dominik Mysterio pulled Morgan out and carried her away before that championship match could begin. Jason Powell’s full recap details the closing sequence.

Analysis: Morgan escaped two dangers, but neither departure settled who could beat her without outside help. Stratton still has the threat represented by the briefcase. Calling this a completed, unsuccessful cash-in would misstate what aired: the opportunity was stopped before a new match began.

Next Raw: Cena returns, with an earlier start

Raw on Monday, November 2, starts at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 p.m. Pacific, on Netflix from Brooklyn. John Cena is advertised for an appearance, and Solo Sikoa vs. Royce Keys is announced. An appearance is not an announcement that Cena is resuming his in-ring career.

Fightful’s next-week report includes WWE’s announcement and the special start time. Do not default to the usual 8 p.m. slot for that episode.

CMLL Monday: Xelhua advances in Puebla

Monday’s Lunes Clásico at Arena Puebla produced six reported outcomes:

  • Águila Egipcia and Espartano won the three-way over Asturiano and Astro, and Lucky and Black Onix.
  • Sanely and Princesa Sugehit defeated Marcela and Magnífica.
  • Johnnie Robbie defeated Alice Crowley.
  • Reyna Isis, Olympia and Hera defeated India Sioux, Skadi and Kira.
  • Xelhua won the Rey del Inframundo Puebla eliminator over Stigma, Rayo Metálico, Arkalis, Rey Apocalipsis and Kheops.
  • Esfinge, Máscara Dorada and Neón defeated Stuka Jr., Último Guerrero and Gran Guerrero.

Fightful’s CMLL report confirms the results and Xelhua’s advance to the final. It does not supply a complete promo record or every finishing move, so this is a results roundup rather than a claimed move-by-move review.

Tonight’s NXT: A title defense and two Dusty semifinals

NXT airs tonight, Tuesday, October 27, at 8 p.m. Eastern on The CW in the United States, live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. The advertised card includes:

  • Jackson Drake vs. EK Prosper for the NXT North American Championship.
  • Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes vs. Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno in a Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic semifinal.
  • Hank Walker and Tank Ledger vs. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno in the other semifinal.
  • Lizzy Rain vs. Chantel Monroe.

Pro Wrestling Dot Net’s verified preview lists those matches. These are announced bouts, not results. It is the final weekly NXT episode before Saturday’s Halloween Havoc.

The final bell

Analysis: Bayley got a decisive result. Evans showed he could trouble a world champion, then gained a different championship opportunity. Morgan survived, but the women around her have more reasons to keep pursuing her. The next test is whether those developments produce satisfying matches rather than simply another round of interference.

For the broader Halloween-week schedule, see Monday’s Late Bell. This edition replaces yesterday’s Raw preview with what actually aired.

Results and announcements checked Tuesday morning, October 27. Future cards may change. Analysis is labeled; on-screen medical statements and storyline claims are not presented as independently established diagnoses or backstage reporting.
