MAYOR PALMIERI ANNOUNCES UPCOMING DEMOLITION PROJECTS

Mayor Robert Palmieri today announced the City of Utica’s Department of

Public Works (DPW) will undergo two major demolition projects.

The DPW is scheduled to demolish the former Cornhill Senior Center located

at 313 James Street, as well as 10 & 20 Barnes Avenue.

Demolition of the former Cornhill Senior Center is scheduled to be begin

today (Monday January 11th).

The demolition of 10 & 20 Barnes Avenue is tentatively scheduled to begin

in March (this is subject to change due to weather conditions).

Mayor Palmieri stated, “I’m pleased to announce the City of Utica’s DPW

will be taking down eye sores in our own community as it will enhance the

quality of life for our residents.
