Special Events
It Takes a Village – March 1st & April 5th
You are cordially invited to join Rev. Elizabeth Gillett and Executive Director Judy Reilly for a faith-based, community-building series. Each month the group will select a religious work with a contemporary theme from which to begin a dialogue. Themes that will be covered include: poverty, income and equality, joy, racism, addiction, and more. Meets from 12 to 2pm – lunch included.
This program is graciously provided through the funding from the Episcopal Diocese of Central New York’s ministry grant.
Ash Wednesday – March 2nd
The Rev. Elizabeth Gillett will be offering the Ash Wednesday liturgy at noon, complete with the Imposition of Ashes and Holy Eucharist. Everyone attending is invited to stay for lunch following the service. If you wish to receive only the Imposition of Ashes, Rev. Elizabeth will be offering them also from 9:30am until 10:30am and from 2pm until 4pm at ten minute intervals.
“LOVE SET FREE”: The Lenten Study Group – March 16th, 23rd, and 30th
The Rev. Martin Smith’s little book, “Love Set Free,” will be the focus of a three-week Lenten study group led by the Rev. Elizabeth Gillett. We will meet on Wednesdays, March 16th, 23rd, and 30th, at 1:30PM, immediately after lunch. If you can, join us in the chapel for Eucharist at noon, and stay on for a delicious lunch and the study group.
We will read and discuss meditations 1 and 2 (Embodiment and Vulnerability) for March 16th, meditations 2 and 4 (Intimacy and Desire) for March 23rd, and meditations 5 and 6 for March 30th. The book will be available ($10) for pick up on Ash Wednesday, March 2nd, or on following weekdays from St. Margaret’s office.
Please sign up for the study group by Wednesday, February 23rd, so we can order a book for you. The total cost of the study group, including the price of the book, will be $9.95.
Social Justice Film Days – March 23rd & April 27th
