UTICA—Coinciding with the celebration of its 25th anniversary, the organization known for making Monday nights a “happening” in downtown Utica has launched a rebranding campaign and recently unveiled a re-designed logo and brand identity statement.
Formerly known as Utica Monday Nite, the organization is renamed UMN For The Arts. The new logo, created by local firm McGrogan Design, features the capital letters UMN in bold type with the added phrase, “FOR THE ARTS” underneath. The background displays a stylized abstract of a topographic map representing the region’s expansive “cultural corridor” with Utica pinpointed as the epicenter.
The identity statement defines the organization’s brand as “Creating Opportunities. Driving Progress.“
“As a board, we chose to update the look of the organization to represent a fresh new perspective in supporting the arts in our community,” said Angela Johnson DeCarlis, board president. “UMN for the Arts is focused on celebrating the arts and cultivating artistry while driving economic progress for our city and the region.”
According to DeCarlis, efforts are underway to showcase the organization’s new look and brand so the community is made aware of the changes and its expanded mission of supporting the full spectrum of the arts experience.
“We’ll be making a huge effort in the coming weeks and months to make our presence known, so we’re asking everyone to be on the lookout,” she added. “It’s important that people take notice of the role we play in further promoting and supporting the regional arts community. We want them to understand how that has a positive impact on our quality of life here.”
