Local News: Assemblywoman Buttenschon Secures $50,000 for Area Parks and Recreation

UTICA — Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon (D,C-Utica/Rome) announced today along with Mayor Palmieri and Councilman Betrus, that she helped secure $50,000 for improvements to recreation facilities in Utica.

“Supporting the health and wellness of our communities will always be a top priority for me,” Buttenschon said. “Thriving communities also need up-to-date, well-maintained public recreation facilities, and I secured investments to ensure residents can stay active at this popular location.”

“Improving and investing in our park system is a top priority as it enhances the quality of life for our residents.  I thank Assemblywoman Buttenschon for her continued advocacy and support as the funding she has secured will help the city complete a major renovation to F.T. Proctor Park,” said Utica Mayor, Rob Palmieri.

Buttenschon delivered $50,000 to Utica Parks and Recreation Department that will help fund bathroom repairs and install a pavilion at F.T. Proctor Park.
