Kirkland Art Center celebrates Ginger Parker’s legacy with The Nields

CLINTON, NY — The Kirkland Art Center in Clinton presents a concert to celebrate Ginger Parker’s legacy with one of her favorite bands — The Nields — on Saturday, October 17 at 7:30 pm. Ginger Parker brought her passion for folk music to bear at the art center when she launched the KAC Coffeehouse in the early 1980s, and she was the driving force behind the nationally recognized KAC music series for decades. The KAC is delighted to welcome back The Nields for this special evening.

The Nields is a sibling duo known for their lifelong harmony singing, rich storytelling, and acoustic-driven sound.  Sisters Nerissa and Katryna Nield have been playing together and recording for over 30 years, initially as a 5-piece alt-rock band, and then as a folk singer/songwriter duo since the late ‘90s. With Nerissa’s acoustic guitar and their unique vocal harmonies, their sound is instantly recognizable. They have recorded over 20 albums and have been perennial favorites with audiences at the KAC over the course of their careers.

Ginger Parker’s son, Jeff, will host the evening which include classic KAC Coffeehouse touches like checkered tablecloths, a 50:50 raffle, and baked goods downstairs. Tickets for the 7:30 pm concert on Saturday, October 17 with The Nields are available at www.kacny.org/kac-live or at the door ($20 general/$18 KAC members). There’s not a bad seat in the house! Everyone is welcome. Wheelchair accessible.
