(Utica, NY) Oneida County Sheriff candidate Jared Pearl has been endorsed by the New York State Troopers PBA and the New York State Police Investigators Association.
The New York State Troopers PBA serves more than 7,000 retired and active, uniformed members of the New York State Police from the rank of Trooper through the rank of Major, informing the public of the everyday heroism shown by Troopers as well as the issues the PBA is addressing on behalf of our members
The New York State Police Investigators Association (NYSPIA) was established in 1994 and represents Senior Investigators and Investigators within the Bureau of Criminal Investigations of the New York State Police. Established in 1935, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, or BCI, is the plainclothes detective branch of the New York State Police, with over 1,000 investigative personnel in its ranks.
In a letter to Pearl, the NYS Troopers PBA stated, “The Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers is proud to announce the endorsement of Jared Pearl for election for Oneida County Sheriff. The NYSTPBA is confident that Jared Pearl is the best candidate for Oneida County Sheriff.”
In a separate letter to Pearl, NYSPIA President Kurt Labuda and Troop D Delegate Brett Vanderlan stated, “It is with great honor and pride that we strongly endorse your candidacy for Oneida County Sheriff, an office for which you are uniquely qualified. You have had an exemplary record during your career with the New York State Police and your law enforcement experience provides you with the necessary foundation and perspective to serve as the Oneida County Sheriff. Through the many years of dedicated service that you have given to the citizens of Oneida County, you have earned a reputation among law enforcement personnel that is second to none. NYSPIA appreciates the expertise and assistance that you have provided throughout the years and our membership has great confidence in your ability and foresight. The membership of the New York State Police Investigators Association is honored to offer our unwavering support and assistance in your candidacy and our best wishes for your continued success.”
Pearl began his accomplished career with the New York State Police in 2003. He recently retired at the rank of Senior Investigator. Jared was also a Deputy with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department, assigned to the Mounted Unit and as a Special Deputy in the Oneida County Jail. Pearl currently serves in the Maynard Volunteer Fire Department and his leadership positions have included: Chief, Assistant Chief, Captain, Lieutenant and President. He also has served as President of the Oneida County Fire Chiefs Association and as a member of their board of directors for eight years.

Jared Pearl is running on the Republican and Conservative ballot lines. The General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
