ROME, N.Y. Indivisible Mohawk Valley plans a protest Monday, November 2, during Vice President JD Vance’s campaign visit to Rome, known as the IMV JD Vance protest.
The group announced the demonstration in an October 31 email. Its public event listing puts the protest at the corner of Hill Road and Floyd Avenue, across from Stewart’s, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.
The IMV JD Vance protest is expected to draw a significant crowd, highlighting local concerns during the Vice President’s visit.

Organizers call for a nonviolent protest
IMV describes the gathering as a response to Vance’s campaign appearance for Republican candidates. Its announcement asks participants to bring American flags and signs expressing opposition to Vance, with suggested themes including high prices, the war in Iran and violence.
The group says its events are nonviolent and asks participants to de-escalate any potential confrontation with people who disagree with them.
Location and parking guidance
Organizers recommend parking at Mohawk Valley Community College’s Rome campus, near Floyd and Bell avenues, then walking along the sidewalk toward Hill Road. This is IMV’s recommendation. Utica Phoenix has not confirmed college permission to use the lot for the protest.
IMV warns that roads into Griffiss Business and Technology Park may be busy or closed because of security. That warning is not a verified police road-closure plan. Readers should check current Rome Police Department notices and the organizer’s event page before traveling.

Vance’s separate campaign event
According to an October 29 announcement from Anthony Constantino’s campaign, Vance is scheduled to join the Republican congressional candidate for a get-out-the-vote rally at Skydome Hangar, 592 Hangar Road, Suite 200.
The campaign lists doors opening at 7 a.m. and the program beginning at 9:15 a.m. Monday. The campaign rally and IMV protest have different locations and schedules. The protest’s suggested parking should not be confused with entry or parking instructions for the campaign rally.
Event information was checked October 31, 2026. The protest listing provides registration and organizer updates.
