Clinton, NY – Hamilton College Department of Music presents Storied, a recital by Renee
Heitmann, soprano, accompanied by Sar-Shalom Strong, pajno, present a vocal recital on Saturday,
September 19, at 7:30 pm in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts.
Storied weave through time by way of one woman’s career in the arts, beginning with her aspirations
in the world of opera and ending with self-discovery. The program moves from arias to jazz
standards to contemporary music theatre, illustrating just one of the countless stories we all have to
tell.
Renee Heitmann is a critically acclaimed soprano, hailed for her “clear, beautiful, angelic” sound,
dramatic delivery, and ability to breathe life into the roles she takes on. She is a frequent guest of
the Mid-Columbia Symphony and Mid-Columbia Mastersingers in Washington State, and often
invited back to sing in the greater Yakima River Valley.
Sar-Shalom Strong performs extensively as both a soloist and a collaborative musician, averaging
around 30 concerts per year. He is core pianist for The Society for New Music and has premiered
many new compositions in that capacity, some of which are available on Innova Records.
