Hamilton College Presents Christian Sands Trio on Saturday, Feb. 2

Clinton, NY –  Hamilton College Performing Arts opens the spring semester with the Christian Sands Trio on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 7:30 p.m., in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts.

A five-time Grammy nominee, pianist Christian Sands is an emerging jazz force.  His goal is to take a fresh look at the entire language of jazz. Sands says, “My music is about teaching the way of jazz and keeping it alive.” He is joined by Eric Wheeler, bass, and Jerome Jennings, drums. They will be performing tracks off Sands’ latest album Facing Dragons.

In addition to the Hamilton College performance, Sands will give a live interview with  Hamilton Jazz Archive director Monk Rowe at 6:30 p.m. in List 106. The public is invited to attend.

The company’s engagement at Hamilton College is made possible through the Jazz Touring Network program of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
