New York State Sen. Joseph Griffo, R-C-Rome, recently visited several Oneida County businesses and presented them with New York State Senate Empire Awards.
The Empire Award recognizes businesses that are leaders in their industry, use innovative methods or products, increase jobs and economic growth and make significant community contributions.
Business Honored by Senator Griffo included:
- Clinton Tractor and Implement Co., 31 Meadow St., NY-12B, Clinton.
- Bonomo’s Dari Crème, 7589 NY-5, Clinton.
- Joe Tahan’s Furniture, 5125 Commercial Dr, Yorkville, and 32 Campion Road, New Hartford.
- McCraith Beverages, 20 Burrstone Road, New York Mills.
- Morehouse Appliances, 8411 Seneca Turnpike, New Hartford. Sen. Griffo also presented a New York State Senate Resolution to the business in recognition of its 130th anniversary.
“I greatly enjoyed visiting these businesses and am honored to present New York State Senate Empire Awards to them,” Sen. Griffo said. “Each one has created jobs, spurred economic growth and made many important contributions to the region and state.”
During his time in the Senate, Sen. Griffo has advocated for and supported the needs of business owners and employers throughout his Senate District and New York State.
“We have to do more in New York to improve the state’s economic climate and to make it more business-friendly,” Sen. Griffo said. “This can be accomplished by lowering taxes and energy costs and reducing regulations. I will continue to be a strong voice in Albany for taking such action and for our businesses so that they can grow, create jobs and be successful in New York State.”
