Empowered Pathways has been offering mediation services through the Peacemaker program for more than 27 years. Trained staff and volunteers use a proven method and process to help guide parties to find common ground and compromise in a variety of situations including, child custody, small claims, workplace conflict, community conflict, and more. The mediation process is a self-directed and controlled alternative to the local family and small claims court system.
“Our staff and volunteers have been through a rigorous training process followed by observation and mentoring in order to help parties find solutions to their disagreements,” according to Stephanie Eghigian, Executive Director at Empowered Pathways. “We are always eager to offer mediation training to interested individuals who might be able to use these skills both personally and professionally; in addition, we are always eager to welcome new volunteer mediators into Empowered Pathways. That’s why we’ve scheduled this valuable training and are offering it for free to anyone interested in attending.”
The training is 30 hours over a six-day period – November 3, 4, & 5 and November 10, 11 & 12 and will be held virtually. Training will be from 9:00AM-3:00PM with breaks and a lunch break. “One of our extraordinary Peacemaker volunteers, Mollie Pulver, has been a mediator for 23 years,” said Eghigian. “She joined us shortly after the program’s inception and has been actively involved ever since. That’s just one example of the dedication we see and shows the satisfaction she receives from her involvement.”
