ELLENVILLE, N.Y. — New York State Police have charged a 30-year-old Ellenville woman with second-degree murder in connection with the death of her 10-year-old daughter, following an investigation that began more than a year ago.
State Police announced Friday that Angelica Sullivan was arrested Sept. 24, 2026, and charged with murder in the second degree, a Class A-I felony. The charge is an allegation, and Sullivan is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
Investigation began after child’s death in August 2025
According to State Police, members of the Ellenville Police Department responded to a Park Street residence in the Village of Ellenville on Aug. 18, 2025, after receiving a report of an unresponsive 10-year-old girl.
The child, identified by police as Kathleen E. Pulido, was taken to Ellenville Regional Hospital. Police said lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead.
New York State Police later assumed the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Kathleen’s death. Authorities have not publicly detailed the evidence that led investigators to file the murder charge.
Multiple agencies assisted investigation
State Police said the Troop F Bureau of Criminal Investigation conducted an extensive investigation with assistance from the Ellenville Police Department, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, Ulster County District Attorney’s Office, Ulster County Child Advocacy Center, Ulster County Child Protective Services, Orange County Family Violence Unit and Orange County Child Protective Services.
Troop F BCI Capt. Brad Natalizio said investigators remained focused on following the evidence and conducting what he described as a thorough and objective investigation despite the difficult nature of a child’s death.
“Our thoughts remain with Kathleen Pulido and all those affected by her death,” Natalizio said in the State Police release.
Investigation remains ongoing
State Police said the investigation remains active. The agency’s announcement did not provide additional details about Sullivan’s arraignment, custody status or a future court date.
