Utica, NY – The HomeOwnershipCenter (HOC) is proud to announce the availability of three
Down Payment and Rehabilitation Assistance Programs for first time home buyers purchasing in
the City of Utica, Oneida County and Madison County.
The City of Utica Down Payment Assistance Program is for first time home buyers looking to
purchase within Utica City limits. This forgivable grant, of up to $7,200, provides down payment
assistance only. The total grant amount is determined by the household’s income level, which
must be at or below 80% of the Area’s Median Income (AMI) set by HUD.
The Down Payment and Rehabilitation Assistance Programs are for first time home buyers
purchasing in Oneida or Madison County. To qualify for the Oneida County program, the
buyer’s gross income must be at or below 112% AMI. To qualify for the Madison county
program, the buyer’s gross income must be at or below 137% AMI. Both of these grants offer
up to $31,500 for down payment and housing rehabilitation.

Applications will only be provided to those that complete Homebuyer Education and Financial

Dream Program and other assistance programs.
