The New York State Department of Transportation will be doing nighttime roadwork in the town of New Hartford and the city of Utica this week.
Monday through Thursday, drivers on state routes 8 and 840, from Genesee Street to Commerical Drive, will find rolling traffic stoppages in the overnight hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Officials say to expect about two to three stoppages in traffic each night as crews remove and install new overhead signs.
Signs will be posted in the area to alert drivers of the stoppages.
The DOT also reminds everyone to slow down and drive responsibly in all work zones, as fines for speeding in a work zone are doubled.
