An annual event to honor veterans and help provide services returns to the state fairgrounds this weekend.
The Central New York Veterans Parade and Expo will take place on Saturday after a year off. The free event will be an in-person event at the fairgrounds after going virtual last year.

It takes place in the Center of Progress Building where you can find vendors, service representatives, and other information to help veterans and families. There are also some kiosks and displays with artifacts from previous wars.
Then, at noon, the annual parade will step off outside on the grounds around Chevy Court.
Organizers said it’s a great event for the entire family.
“This is a wonderful event for the entire community. It’s a place for veterans to get ideas about services in the community that can help them, but it’s also a wonderful event to teach people in the community about what veterans mean,” said CNY Veterans Parade and Expo Coordinator Diana LaMattina Abdella.
Abdella said this event has been hosted by Assemblyman Bill Magnarelli’s office for 14 years. They’re excited to bring the event back in person this year.
The expo will go on from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information, visit CNYVeteransParade.org.
If you’re in Liverpool, check out the Flags of Honor and Gratitude Project near Wegmans on Route 57. The display is put out by the Onondaga North Rotary Club every year. Visit OnondagaNorthRotary.com for more information.
