Assemblywoman Buttenschon partners with local schools to deliver student ‘Thank You’ cards to veterans for Veterans Day

Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon (D,I-Utica/Rome) coordinated a student ‘Thank You’ card collection for retired service men and women for this Veterans Day. The cards were made by elementary, middle and high school students from schools across the 119 th District.

“It is so important that we remember and cherish the sacrifices of our veterans have made. My office collected well over a thousand thank you cards made by students of all ages, from across the 119 the District,” Buttenschon said. “The response from local schools was tremendous, and the cards made by the students are beautiful.  My office will have the honor of hand delivering many of these cards to local VFW’s, Legion Posts, and local agencies that support our veterans. “

Additionally, the Assemblywoman’s office created a digital slide show of the Thank You cards can also be shared with veterans living at area nursing homes and long-term care facilities this Veterans Day.
