A new photo of Paul Rudd and Dan Levy in London sparks speculation that the Schitt’s Creek star is part of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s cast.
A photo of Paul Rudd and Dan Levy hanging out in London has sparked speculation the Schitt’s Creek star has joined the cast of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Marvel Studios has been working on a third entry in the Ant-Man franchise for a few years now with director Peyton Reed. He recently confirmed that production is now underway in London, well ahead of Ant-Man 3‘s early 2023 release date.
When Marvel Studios officially confirmed details for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in late 2020, the title reveal came with a few expected and surprising cast members. Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are both returning to star in the sequel, with Rudd playing Scott Lang aka Ant-Man and Lilly as Hope van Dyne aka Wasp. Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfieffer are also confirmed to return as Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, respectively. This is also where Marvel revealed Cassie Lang had been recast, with Kathryn Newton set to take over the role. Meanwhile, Jonathan Majors is set to appear as Kang the Conqueror after his surprise appearance in Loki‘s finale as He Who Remains.

With Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania currently filming, fans have remained hopeful that some more updates on the movie will come as a result. Now, a potential piece of casting may have been revealed in an unexpected way. Darjeeling Express founder Asma Khan shared a photo on Twitter of Paul Rudd and Dan Levy eating there, with Rudd apparently visiting the restaurant in the past. Levy currently has no known projects filming in London, which has caused Marvel fans to speculate that the Emmy-winning creator of Schitt’s Creek might have secretly joined the cast of Ant-Man 3.

The possibility of Dan Levy appearing in Ant-Man 3 is currently nothing but speculation based on this photo. However, similar guesses have been right in the past. A photo of Benedict Wong and Simu Liu together in Australia during Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings‘ production sparked similar hopes, which have since been confirmed to be true. Russell Crowe’s involvement in Thor: Love and Thunder was similarly discovered after he was spotted hanging out with director Taika Waititi and star Chris Hemsworth. These pieces of speculation don’t have perfect track records, though. A photo of Dan Stevens with members of Eternals‘ cast led to similar conclusions, but that has yet to be proven to be true.

Even though Dan Levy is not confirmed to be in Ant-Man 3, he would seemingly be a perfect fit and a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There’s no telling who he could play if he does appear either. Levy could make for a fun supporting villain in the film or mark the latest comedian to have a small appearance in the Ant-Man franchise. Given Levy’s past accomplishments and talents, hopefully any appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is in a substantial role that could continue in the MCU.
