  • The Far West looks to have some excellent weather for Halloween this year.
  • Overall, temperatures should be fairly close to average across much of the nation.

How will the weather affect the goblins, ghosts and ghouls in your neighborhood on Halloween evening?

Fortunately, after a wild weather week across portions of the country, no big storms, flooding rains or severe weather outbreaks are in the forecast anywhere in the U.S. on Halloween, forecasters said.

“The Halloween forecast this year is looking relatively mild, if not a bit chilly, across much of the nation as kids and families gear up for dressing up in scary costumes to go trick-or-treating,” AccuWeather meteorologist Alex DaSilva said.

In the Northeast, the chance of rain is highest across parts of northern New England, according to Weather.com. For now, it’s not expected to be a soaking rain where it does fall, though showers may stretch as far south as Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Elsewhere, a damp and cold night of trick-or-treating could also be in store for those in the northern Plains, as a stormy mix of showers and snow is in the forecast, AccuWeather said.

Chilly conditions will hold across the Midwest as well, as a cold Halloween night is in store for those in Chicago and the Great Lakes region.

Some rain or light snow is possible in parts of Wyoming, northern Colorado, northern Utah and the Nebraska panhandle, according to a Weather.com forecast.

The Far West looks to have some excellent weather for Halloween this year: After enduring the recent, drenching storm parade and bomb cyclone, those in the western U.S. can look forward to Halloween for some of the most ideal trick-or-treating weather conditions in the country, according to a forecast from AccuWeather.

In addition, with mostly clear skies, average temperatures and dry weather, those in the Southeast and across the southern Plains can also expect mild conditions on Halloween.

Overall, temperatures should be fairly close to average across much of the nation, with no extremes of cold or heat expected.
