NXT has its Dusty Cup finalists, Jackson Drake still has his championship, and Grayson Waller has made his fight with Tony D’Angelo personal. Tuesday’s final episode before Halloween Havoc also added a Weapons Wild match and announced John Cena for next week’s special Wednesday broadcast.
Here is the full October 27 NXT result sheet, the important story developments and Wednesday’s viewing guide for Mohawk Valley fans. The tournament final is next week, not part of Saturday’s Halloween Havoc card.
NXT results: all five matches
Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno defeated The Vanity Project
Dar and Moreno eliminated NXT Tag Team Champions Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes in the first Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic semifinal. Dar wrestled with his head bandaged and avoided Myka Lockwood’s attempted interference. A high-low combination finished the upset by pinfall. This was a tournament match, not a championship change. WWE’s official results confirm their advance.
Chantel Monroe defeated Lizzy Rain
Monroe won her NXT singles debut by turning Rain’s pin attempt into one of her own and grabbing the ropes for leverage. Rain’s effort to answer Monroe’s backstage attitude ended with a disputed-looking victory, but the referee’s decision stood. WWE’s recap specifically notes the illegal assistance.
Sean Legacy defeated Saquon Shugars
Legacy won by pinfall after a back-and-forth match. Shugars could not convert his control into a victory, and Legacy survived to settle their locker-room dispute in the ring. The winner and pinfall are confirmed across WWE’s results and WrestleZone’s live report.
Hank and Tank defeated the Wagner brothers
Hank Walker and Tank Ledger beat AAA World Tag Team Champions El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno in the other semifinal. The brothers brought aerial offense as well as size, but Hank and Tank finished with simultaneous splashes and a pinfall. They will face Dar and Moreno for the Dusty Cup. The AAA belts were not at stake. WrestleZone details the finish.
Jackson Drake retained against EK Prosper
Prosper’s North American Championship challenge ended when Myka Lockwood occupied the referee and Kam Hendrix pushed Prosper from the top rope. Drake followed with a running knee and the pin. The live report confirms the interference. Earlier, Hendrix had questioned why Prosper received the opportunity while he was missing from Halloween Havoc, as documented by Wrestling Inc.
Waller takes the rivalry outside the arena
Waller’s video from outside D’Angelo’s home sent the challenger searching for him. The chase continued through D’Angelo’s restaurant before a message pointed him back toward the Performance Center. Waller then spoke in the ring, treating the whole exercise as proof that he could get inside D’Angelo’s head.
D’Angelo arrived, Waller went outside, and they fought in the parking-lot area. Officials repeatedly tried to separate them. The show ended with the fight reaching D’Angelo’s truck. These were on-screen story scenes building Saturday’s NXT title match, not a separately reported real-world home invasion. TPWW’s full recap follows the sequence.
Halloween Havoc: the promos and attacks that mattered
Myles Borne and Tavion Heights: Security kept the former partners apart during their confrontation. Danhausen’s voice directed the wheel spin, which selected a Weapons Wild match for Saturday. That is an announced stipulation, not a result. WWE confirms the match.
Zilla Fatu and BirthRight: Arianna Grace interrupted Fatu before his planned wheel spin. BirthRight members disguised as druids attacked him with shovels, including an attack on his hand. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo returned in the group segment. 411Mania’s report makes an important distinction: Lorenzo’s television return was not a return to an actual match. The attack built Fatu’s scheduled meeting with Charlie Dempsey; it did not establish a medical diagnosis.
Izzi Dame and Zaria: Dame explained that she wanted to expose Zaria before pursuing her championship, keeping their Saturday contest non-title. Zaria later left the building angry over Dame’s mind games. Wrestling Inc. records Dame’s explanation, while TPWW notes Zaria’s response.
Kelani Jordan and Wren Sinclair: NXT replayed Jordan’s Raw backstage exchange with Adam Pearce and IYO SKY. SKY challenged Jordan’s attitude before Pearce stepped between them. Watching with Kendal Grey, Sinclair said she would bring the women’s title back to their group. The segment reinforced her Saturday challenge. Source: Wrestling Inc.
Shiloh Hill and Naraku: Hill’s video showed him practicing mist and responding to Naraku’s threat. The presentation belongs to their wrestling storyline. Claims about what the colored mist could do should not be read as medical information. Source: TPWW.
Next week: Cena, Cody and a Wednesday NXT
Cruz Montana warned that Dion Lennox had crossed a line by bringing his family into their feud. Robert Stone later made their rematch unsanctioned. Wrestling Inc.’s report confirms both developments.
Next week’s NXT moves to Wednesday, November 4. The announced lineup includes the Dusty Cup final, Montana vs. Lennox, John Cena’s appearance and Cody Rhodes presenting the tournament trophy. Cena has been announced to appear, not to wrestle. TPWW’s announcement roundup lists the full next-show plans.

Danhausen’s Halloween special revisits WWE’s spooky matches
WWE’s Very Nice, Very Evil Halloween Special was a hosted trip through the archive, separate from Tuesday’s NXT. Catch-Newz’s recap identifies The Boogeyman, Papa Shango and Matt Cardona as Danhausen’s co-hosts and reports that the featured matches were shown in full.
The reported lineup included:
- The Undertaker vs. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin in the Buried Alive match from Rock Bottom: In Your House in 1998.
- John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt in the Firefly Fun House match from WrestleMania 36.
- Natalya vs. Chelsea Green in a Trick or Street Fight from Raw.
- A collection of The Boogeyman’s frightening WWE moments.
- The Great Khali, Kane, Big Daddy V and Mark Henry in ECW’s October 30, 2007, Monster Mash Battle Royal.
- AJ Styles vs. The Undertaker in the Boneyard match from WrestleMania 36.
Those were archival presentations, not newly contested October 27 matches. Danhausen’s separate NXT contribution was the Borne-Heights stipulation announcement. His Halloween-week schedule continues with Friday’s themed SmackDown and hosting Saturday’s Halloween Havoc, according to WWE’s announcement reported by F4W.
CMLL: Esfinge wins a title; Calavera Jr. I advances
Tuesday’s Arena México show produced a championship change and another Rey del Inframundo finalist. Radio Fórmula’s report by Israel Zamacona, which includes CMLL’s announcements, records these six outcomes:
- Pequeños Depredadores (Pequeño Volador Jr., Minos I and Minos II) defeated Pequeño Sky Team in the opening trios match.
- Tabata and Hécate defeated Candela and Astoreth.
- El Terrible and Máquina Letal defeated Dark Panther and Hijo de Blue Panther.
- Olympia and Hera defeated Reyna Isis and Princesa Sugehit.
- Esfinge defeated Akuma with the Nudo Egipcio to win the Mexican National Heavyweight Championship.
- Calavera Jr. I won the Rey del Inframundo qualifier over Barboza, El Coyote, Rugido, Yutani and Villano III Jr.
Calavera Jr. I advances to Friday’s final. This was a qualifying victory, not the tournament championship. Results from Tuesday’s separate Guadalajara show were not verified for this edition.
CMLL has also booked Darby Allin against Hechicero at Arena México on Friday, October 30. F4W’s report, carrying CMLL’s announcement, identifies it as a non-title match and Allin’s CMLL debut. Allin first has a TNT Championship defense on Wednesday.
Tonight: AEW Fright Night on TBS and HBO Max
For viewers in Utica and across the Mohawk Valley, Fright Night Dynamite begins at 8 p.m. Eastern tonight, Wednesday, October 28. AEW’s announced lineup, carried by PWMania, includes:
- Darby Allin defending the TNT Championship against Josh Alexander.
- Persephone defending the TBS Championship against Queen Aminata.
- FTR against the Motor City Machine Guns in match three of their best-of-five series.
The series is tied 1-1 after FTR’s Saturday win. That makes tonight a chance for either team to move within one victory of winning the series, not the deciding match. WrestleView’s recap of the announcement confirms the series position.
AEW lists Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis as the venue. Its 6:30 p.m. Central live-event start is a venue time, not a change to the 8 p.m. Eastern television broadcast. Collision will also be taped there for its October 31 airing, according to Pro Wrestling Dot Net.
Reporting refreshed Wednesday morning, October 28. Future cards can change. This edition covers all five NXT matches, six Arena México outcomes and the reported lineup of Danhausen’s archival special. Guadalajara results were not verified. Both illustrations are labeled and are not documentary photographs.
