Science talk with WKTV’s Bill Kardas 

Utica, N.Y. — World-renowned sculptor Karen LaMonte returns to Munson Museum of Art at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 8, for a lively conversation about the intersection of art and science with WKTV’s meteorologist Bill Kardas in the Museum’s Bank of Utica–Sinnott Family Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for Munson Members and $10 for the general public and can be purchased at munson.art. 

Together, LaMonte and Kardas will explore LaMonte’s stunning, career-spanning exhibition “Celestial Bodies: Sculpture by Karen LaMonte,” which features scientifically accurate cloud forms in marble, porcelain, metal, and glass. Together, they will discuss their shared fascination with art, weather, climate, and the environment. Discover how the powerful forces of art and science come together to shape the way we see and understand the natural world.

“Celestial Bodies: Sculpture by Karen LaMonte” presents the extraordinary artwork of contemporary artist Karen LaMonte, one of the most celebrated sculptors of our time. The exhibition is on view now at Munson Museum of Art. More information is available at munson.art.
